Super-Intelligent Machines - Artificial Intelligence

Forms of Artificial intelligence have been around since 1950 and have been developing since then. I predict that the deployment of AI will be pervasive in the future, in application such as driverless transport vehicles driverless cars tests have already been carried out with a few working prototypes in existence already, we have vehicle that can park themselves been sold commercially.

AI is being used in language translation; Google has applications that are doing this already. Data mining applications which use AI to predict trends and probabilities of events, banking applications can use sophisticated AI data mining applications to minimise incidence of fraud and theft.

AI is being used in robotic applications; a prime example of this is the Mars explorer Curiosity.  Recent developments in machine vision have allowed robotic devices to have depth perception and this together with image recognition software enhances their ability to locate and identify objects.

AI will develop into superinteligence whereby machines can surpass human thinking on any subject. Devices in the household will have forms of intelligence and communicate with each other to cater for our needs. Fridges could automatically place order online to suppliers for items in the fridge that are running low or expired (based on learning of item usage).
