Cloud computing is a major technology that has been steadily gaining uptake in the worlds enterprise IT environments, and will continue to have a major impact on IT systems implementations. Cloud has enabled mobile devices to be smart, they can provide continuous location data and are supported by cloud-delivered services such as applications, content, apps, games and videos etc. The cloud is an enabler of for ecommerce e.g. mobile commerce is when location based campaigns are conducted to target specific market segments (the market of you). Cloud computing makes todays’ business more agile, they are not constrained by large computer infrastructure and can react quicker to market changes than in the past. One of the key concerns about Cloud technology is security. Software as a service is one of the most common services provided by the cloud; this enables companies to implement systems a lot quicker than in the past. I predict the cloud technology will be pervasive within the next 5 years.
